Rascaña
A diverse neighborhood: from tennis courts to bars
The district is diverse. Here, in Sant Llorenç, there is a very good area for buying a home – Avenida Alfahuir.
The housing stock is represented by good closed new residential complexes with swimming pools, tennis courts and round-the-clock security along with less new, but also very good real estate.
Nearby there is a large park, a municipal sports center with a nice swimming pool and a stadium.
There are bars, restaurants, an Arena shopping center with a Carrefour supermarket.
The metro is 5 minutes away on foot, the city center is 10 minutes by car or 40 minutes on foot.
The sea can be reached in 20 minutes by car. The Quiron Private Hospital is 5-10 minutes away by car.
We will start our journey through the Raskanya district from the first quarter, Els Orriols. Here is the monastery of San Miguel de los Reyes, founded in the XVI century by Fernando de Aragon. This monastery is a remarkable example of Spanish medieval architecture. The founder of the monastery bequeathed to him his property and library, which gives him special importance. During its history, the monastery changed its purpose several times, was abandoned by the monks due to the war, was used as a prison and guardhouse, and now houses the Valencian Library.
Also in the Els Orriols quarter is the stadium of the Levante football club, which was founded in 1909. The stadium holds more than 26,000 spectators and is located on the site of a huge garden. The club has a difficult history in the top league, but its fans remain loyal and continue to support the team.
There is also a beautiful park in the area where locals like to spend time outdoors. And although there are more old buildings and monasteries in the Els Orriols quarter, there is also a modern Catholic church, San Jeronimo, which impresses with its architecture and stained glass windows in the style of the Middle Ages.
The second quarter, Torrefiel, offers slightly fewer attractions, with the exception of the old farmhouse. And finally, in Sant Llorenç, you can see the charming stadium and maybe find some more interesting places to visit.
Thus, the Raskanja area offers not only historical and architectural attractions, but also a great opportunity to spend active time in nature or support the local football club.
