Campanar

This area of old Valencia is called Campanar (which means “field for walking”) and consists of two districts: the New and the Old. The houses in the Old Campanara are not very modern, many of them do not have elevators. This area cannot be called prestigious, as the houses are old, the level of professionalism and culture of local residents is not very high. The residents themselves call it a historical village in the center of the city.

But despite this, the old Campanar has become popular among investors due to one factor – its proximity to Turia Park. This park is a kind of “green light” of Valencia. And another advantage of the old Campanar is its history. The area was built up with Muslim farmhouses in the 13th century, and then was annexed to Valencia in the late 19th century. Walking through this area, you can feel the Spanish urban atmosphere of peace and tranquility. In our fast-moving era, this is a calming factor that inspires a philosophical attitude and promotes contemplation.

In this green area there is a Biopark (zoo) and the Cabecera Landscape Park. The heart of the Old Campanara is the square with the Church of the Holy Virgin of Compassion and the bell tower. Walking along the ancient streets of Moussin Roussel and Mestre Bagant, you can find the oldest bakery in Valencia – El Manuel, which bakes excellent bread.

The area also has its own shopping center. The Campanar itself is a landmark with colorful old houses and streets.
